Hester Marriott is a graduate of the London College of Printing and a member of the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP). She has over 12 years’ experience as a freelance portrait photographer, specializing in pregnancy, babies, children, families and publicity headshots. She is based in London and Hampshire but undertakes commissions throughout the UK and overseas. Hester is known for her beautiful images, outstanding photographic products and attention to detail.

“My love of portrait photography started early and the birth of my own children has reinforced my obsession with the medium as the most beautiful way of capturing fleeting moments of childhood.

I have a very casual, relaxed style of child/family photography and love to create classic, uncluttered images. I recognize that it isn’t always easy to relax in front of the camera but I aim to capture the natural expressions, genuine looks, smiles and laughter that you know and love and to achieve that, your child needs to be relaxed and engaged in something interesting – sitting still and ‘cheesing’ for the camera does not qualify. Children need space and time to feel comfortable in front of the camera: there’s never any pressure to ‘perform.’ I want the session itself to be as memorable as the images you enjoy years from now.”
