Weather extremes seem to have been a feature of recent weddings, and it’s a question I’m often asked – ‘what happens if…?’ – normally it’s about rain, but extreme heat can cause problems of its own. Of course there’s no chance of rescheduling – you have to work with what you’ve got. In Olivia’s case, this was a wedding to her long-term sweetheart, in a church next to the house where she had grown up, a summery garden wedding, filled with loving family and friends, and bridesmaids for whom she used to be a nanny. They proved invaluable when it came to cooling her down during the preparations.   Her divine Phillipa Lepley dress was matched with shoes from Christian Louboutin, and as she and Oli were the first of their friends to get married, there was no shortage of willing hands to help, with her mother making the cake, and friends providing flowers and delicious food.

'Hester was an absolute dream to work with; she captured our day in a way that I never thought possible. It was really important to us that we got along with the photographer as it makes taking photos a whole lot easier and as we wanted fun and natural photos Hester was the perfect choice. The pictures that we now have we will cherish forever and they are timeless.

I couldn't think of a better photographer and when the time comes for our daughter to get married I will be ringing on her doorbell and bringing her out of retirement as we wouldn't want anyone else!'
