I started my wedding and family portrait photography business over 15 years ago and I’ve often wondered why photography is such a passion – no, maybe obsession.   I can only conclude that for me the pleasure is genuinely in the giving rather than the receiving, and I really love making people happy (middle child syndrome).  I get SO much from watching and hearing about the reactions of clients to their images.   It’s such a privilege to observe couples and families close up on important days, and to document their love for each other. I’m also obsessive about attention to detail and customer service so clients feel looked-after and appreciated – many return year after year as their families grow.  I’m a graduate of the London College of Printing and a qualified member of the British Institute of Professional Photography.

I live in Hampshire with my husband and three young children who provide daily inspiration and motivation. Their delightful if demanding presence in my life means that I am able to put children at ease and know how to make it fast and fun. I also completely understand all those clichés about capturing the fleeting memories of childhood through photography: ‘The days are long, but the years are short’, (not sure who said that, but it just about sums it up perfectly).

Apart from taking photographs, I love the sound of my children laughing with each other and the feel of their arms round my neck. I enjoy bracing walks, keeping up with close friends, sailing holidays, dancing like I’m in my twenties (I’m not), choral singing, my Kindle and home-made lemon curd. I’m past my superbike riding days, but you might find me competing in the odd triathlon or Tough Mudder..

[My considerable family and other commitments mean I have to limit the number of commissions I accept each year, so it’s worth getting in touch early as sessions get booked months in advance.]
