ABOUT ME

I started my wedding and family portrait photography business over 20 years ago and I’ve often wondered why photography is such a passion – no, maybe obsession.   I can only conclude that for me the pleasure is genuinely in the giving rather than the receiving, and I really love making people happy (middle child syndrome).  I get SO much from watching and hearing about the reactions of clients to their images.   It’s such a privilege to observe couples and families close up on important days, and to document their love for each other. I’m also obsessive about attention to detail and customer service so clients feel looked-after and appreciated – many return year after year as their families grow.  I’m a graduate of the London College of Printing and a qualified member of the British Institute of Professional Photography.

I remember every detail of my own wedding like it was yesterday thanks to the amazing photos (you can be sure I chose my photographer very carefully..) and they mean so much more now as I lost my husband to cancer in 2019.  Our three nippers are older now (11, 15 & 18) but they have put up with my camera for many years and have taught me how to put children at ease and make it fast and fun.  I also completely understand all those clichés about capturing the fleeting memories of childhood through photography: ‘The days are long, but the years are short’, (not sure who said that, but it just about sums it up perfectly).

Apart from taking photographs, I love the sound of my children laughing with each other and their bear hugs, I enjoy bracing walks, keeping up with close friends, sailing holidays, dancing like I’m in my twenties (obviously I’m not) and choral singing.
